This blog post is something of an introduction to Wilt Creative and as such, I thought it might be good to give a little back story on who we are and what makes us tick. My name is Ben Wilt and I’m the nut-job that decided to start this firm. I absolutely love the creative process…laboring to find that perfect idea that will best accomplish what is needed and then that euphoric moment when it strikes you. It’s in these moments that I truly feel alive and I wanted to spend more of my time saturating myself within this process. It was essentially this desire that became the birth of Wilt Creative.

I then realized that I would definitely need a hand in this venture, so I solicited the help of my brother, Ken Wilt and my good friend, Sam Dingus...both of which bring things to the organization that I could never do alone. Something I love about the creative process is that it is very collaborative. I’ll be talking more about them in the future, but I wanted to take a moment to focus on the name of our firm.

When I decided to begin my own organization, I knew that there were certain things that we all brought to the table that would make us a real asset to our clients, but I wanted to be more than just a marketing firm or a video production agency. We definitely do provide both of those services with years of experience in both targeted marketing and creative video production, but we also bring so much more to a client and I wanted to make sure that our name reflected our abilities & passions. I realize that ‘creative’ is something of a buzz word within certain industries and cultural circles and that’s something that concerned me but to be honest, I could think of nothing better to describe what we do and the services we provide. We are constantly searching for the most creative way in which to best proclaim our clients vision and mission & this approach lends itself to analyzing every portion of a clients organization to ensure that’s it’s perfectly ‘tuned’ to best accomplish their main goal and mission. We’ve spoken into everything from traditional marketing efforts (outdoor campaigns and video commercials) to aesthetic design (customer or guest impressions).

Our approach to finding this creative strategy follows a rather simple process:

1. Let’s Talk - We begin by saturating ourselves within our client’s culture, passion and vision. This step is essential because it’s so very important to us that we fully understand what has made you who you are…we want to shine a light on your mission. Our goal is to support what you’ve already begun and help you make it as clear & compelling as possible so as to reach as many as possible.

2. Budget! - This is a very important step and one we feel should not be neglected in any of our client conversations. The goal is the same for us both…we both need and want to grow as an organization, but this can only happen within the resources available to us. We have worked within both large and small budgets and pride ourselves on making every dollar count. This said, it’s important that we understand the budget, so we design the strategic plan accordingly.

3. Creative - Once we feel we fully understand our clients mission & budget, we then evaluate their needs (in every single facet of their organization…marketing, guest or customer experience, employee satisfaction/productivity, etc.) which leads to designing a creative plan that rises above others in their respective spaces. This is the process that we love…it’s in this step that we labor over finding that perfect idea to force our client to take that next step and turn heads in their direction. We refuse to live by the saying, ‘We’ve always done it this way’ because that’s exactly how any organization finds itself becoming stagnant. It’s in this process that we develop a strategic plan that will tie everything together into single cohesive endeavor.

4. Let’s Talk Again – At this point, we meet again with our clients to discuss what we’ve dreamed up. We will explain our strategic plan & ensure that everything falls in line with their core values and mission statement.

5. Execution! – Once we agree upon the plan, it’s time to execute! This is the fun part where ideas become reality!

This process may seem rather basic, but I’ve been surprised at how often certain steps are missed which leads to problems. For instance, I’m surprised at how often organizations approach their client with an ‘idea’ without first trying to fully understand their client’s mission. I can’t begin to develop a creative strategy without first fully understanding who you are and what direction you are trying to go…this doesn’t mean I won’t present something ‘outside the box’ but I can’t do this effectively without first immersing myself in what has made you who you are today.

In conclusion, we are extremely excited about the things we have on the horizon but we’re also very mindful of also remaining true to ourselves as well and this includes being ever creative but also being ever mindful of our client’s original vision and mission. It’s our job to simply enhance this vision and that’s something we love doing. If you are in need of the services we provide, give us a call! We’d love to talk…

Ben
